Takht Bhai – A Journey into the Buddhist Past: Takht Bhai, located near Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is one of the most remarkable and well-preserved Buddhist monastic complexes in Pakistan. Dating back to the 1st century BCE, it was part of the ancient Gandhara civilization. The site sits on a hilltop, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding valley. Its stone-built stupas, meditation cells, assembly halls, and courtyards reflect the architectural brilliance and spiritual depth of early Buddhist culture.

Morning, we will drive towards Takht Bhai takes nearly 3 hours to reach.

Takht Bhai is a monastery was established in the 1st century CE and was used until the 7th century. Archaeologists think this complex is a great example of the buildings found in Buddhist monasteries from that time. Takht-i-Bahi became a World Heritage Site in 1980, and UNESCO said it is “very well kept. “
After that, we will have our lunch
After visiting the Takht Bhai and having our lunch we will drive back to Islamabad, and drop you off.
