Mustagh Ata (7546m) lies in western China, about 25 km east of Tajikstan and about 75 km north of Pakistan. It was attempted in 1947 by the famous British climbers Shipton and Tilman who turned back only about 100m below the summit exhausted from making a trail in the deep soft snow and suffering from altitude sickness and frostbite. The same three problems of deep soft snow, altitude and severe cold have plagued climbers ever since. Besides of that it is an easy to climb mountain.

Itinerary

Transfer to hotel. Made necessary arrangements.

Drive to Chilas in about 12 hours. Transfer to hotel for overnight.

Drive Sost. Overnight at hotel.

Drive to Tashkorgan into China crossing Khunjerab Pass. Overnight at hotel.

Trek to Karakul Lake. Overnight in Yurts.

Trek Muztaq Ata Base Camp.

Reserved for climbing Muztaq Ata.

Trek down to Subhash and drive to Kashgar. Overnight at hotel.

Sightseeing tour of Kashgar. Overnight at hotel.

Drive to Tashkorgan. Overnight at hotel.

Drive to Karimabad via Sost. Overnight at hotel.

Drive to Islamabad. Transfer to hotel for overnight.

Transfer to Airport.

The above itinerary is not a fixed programme but is intended to give an indication of the likely events during the expedition. Please note that because of the nature of mountaineering on 8,000m peaks, it will be necessary to have a flexible plan in order to take the best advantage of situations as they present themselves. Broad Peak Expedition

Broad Peak 8051m is one of the huge mountains which towers above Concordia at the heart of the Karakoram range. It lies on the Pakistani/Chinese frontier between K2 and the Gasherbrum peaks and was first climbed by an Austrian group in 1957, which included Kurt Diemberger and Herman Buhl.

Gasherbrum I / Hidden peak Expedition

Hidden Peak 8,080 m as translated by the natives means “Shining Wall”. Among the six Gasherburn Peaks in the Karakoram range Gasherbrum I is the highest. The Americans were the first to reach its the Autumn of 1958.

Gasherbrum II Expedition

Gasherbum II 8,035 m lies at the head of the Baltoro Glacier amongst the greatest concentration of high mountains in the world. It was first climbed by S. Larche, F.Moravee and H. Willenpart in 1956.
